I’ve been experimenting with manifesting goals and purposes lately and I’m finding there are a few keys to success. The first key is called the Universal Law of Believing & Knowing… meaning, when I fully believe NO MATTER WHAT that the outcome will happen, it does. Every single time. If I have any lingering doubts or even a subtle ‘feeling’ that it won’t happen, then it usually doesn’t. So, you must fully believe and know that your goals will manifest.

The second key goes hand in hand with the first one: Fully commit to the the desired outcome. That means holding in your mind what you believe will happen and visualizing it often. In my experience, I can easily manifest (make happen) smaller goals and ideals, but the bigger and more expansive goals need more of a powerful ‘punch’ behind them. Attention and focus really come into play here – our minds will distract us or create doubts into us that we can’t accomplish something. Bringing our attention back to what we want to happen (rather than worrying about what we don’t want to happen) is essential.

I opened Doreen Virtue’s book The Lightworker’s Way last night before bed and turned to a page that apparently I needed to read:

“If you hold on to your faith and dreams, anything you see will eventually become a physical reality. However, if your faith wavers or your dreams constantly flit from one image to another, your reality will reflect this fear and confusion.”

This is SO true. It was no accident that I picked up and read that section of her book last night, as this applies to my life. In particular, to one of my personal ‘bigger’ goals that I’ve had trouble manifesting, which is weight loss. I’ve been overweight for quite some time now (about 5 years) and it seems no matter what I’ve done, my weight loss has not stayed consistent enough for me to lose significant weight. I’ve realized recently that most of it has to do with the way I think. Over and over again, I’ve tried to lose weight, visualizing it, taking steps toward it, etc. But then I’ll begin having doubts, or I’ll start feeling like it will never happen, or some other obstacle will come up. The ‘ugh I’m so fat’ thoughts have also contributed to the weight stagnation, as does my prior inability to commit to my desired outcome.

I have other bigger goals in mind to accomplish – about three of them right now. I also now have a new ‘Ten Most Wanted List’ that I created as a class assignment. Part of my homework is to read the list every day. (All three of my bigger goals are on that list).

Will I manifest all ten goals? Yes, I am confident that I will. Last October, I had created a Ten Most Wanted list, read it every day for a few days, then folded it up and put it in a drawer only to be forgotten about. However, I pulled out that list last month and found to my astonishment that I had accomplished ALL BUT ONE ITEM on it! Which is absolutely awesome! It showed me that just a little attention onto your goals goes a long way. HOWEVER, none of the things on that list were really big except for the one thing I didn’t accomplish – go figure! So with your bigger goals, consistent visualization is key.

The third key is something I’ve noticed in my personal experience: Spiritual and personal-growth related goals are the ones that manifest the most easily. Almost everything on the list I created back in October had to do with spiritual and/or personal growth. It seems that the universe really wants to help you accomplish these type of goals – the ones that relate to adding to what is permanent and lasting (soul growth, relating with others, helping others, helping yourself overcome obstacles, etc). I believe that this is why many people have a hard time with manifesting things using books like ‘The Secret’ and such – because they tend to choose goals that mostly reflect material things. There is nothing wrong with wanting material success of course, but it’s good to have a productive purpose for choosing such ideals. Becoming a millionaire, for example, will not help your spiritual and personal growth unless you plan to use that money for philanthropic purposes or to better mankind in some way.

The fourth key is that you must state your goals in a positive, productive way. For example, let’s say that you want to become healthy. So, your goal will need to say something like this: “I want to become vibrantly healthy” instead of “I want to stop being so sick all the time”. Or, say something like “I want to learn how to hold positive thoughts” as opposed to “I want to stop having negative thoughts all the time”.

So here is the outline for manifesting your goals and purposes:

  1. Believe and know that your goals will manifest.
  2. Fully commit to your desired outcome. When doubts arise, bring your attention back to what you want to happen rather than what you don’t want to happen.
  3. Select goals that pertain to lasting, permanent and meaningful outcomes.
  4. State your goals in a positive and productive way.

Try this… make a list of three items that you really want to accomplish in the next few months. Make sure that the items on the list pertain to something meaningful, like personal growth, health, well being, friendship, etc. (If you really want to, put one item on there pertaining to something material that you want). Make sure the goals are stated in a productive way and don’t have the words ‘Not’ or ‘Stop’ in them. Put a ‘bigger’ item on there, then put two smaller things in order to keep track of your progress. Read the list every day and visualize each goal manifesting. Or, read the list a few times, visualize each thing happening and how you will feel when you’ve accomplished each thing, then put the list away. Pick it back up in a few months and see how you’ve done.

Or if making a list is too cumbersome for you, try this. Create a goal in your mind now. Perhaps for instance, you want to make a new friend. Write it down on a piece of paper, then every night before you go to bed, say 10 times, “I will make a new friend”. Do this every day and as you say it, visualize it happening.

You will be surprised how quickly and easily you can accomplish what you want, especially if it pertains to something meaningful and lasting!

There’s a list of positive affirmations that are literally rocking my world at the moment! I’ve decided to share the list here. I have taken to reading these affirmations out loud with meaning as many times I have time and care for each day.

Most of these affirmations were divinely inspired. They came to me intuitively last week when I was sitting with a pen and paper after some stilling of the mind and introspection. They all pertain to transforming and upgrading my prior unproductive and often negative thought patterns and beliefs. So in reading this list, you will be able to see many areas of my life that I have been lacking proper perspective and strength.

I am strong and capable.
I deserve unconditional love.
I deserve to fulfill my ideals, goals and purposes.
My body is healthy, strong and vibrant.
I follow through on all activities I start.
I am consistent.
I use willpower and self-discipline effectively.
My body is joyfully releasing excess weight.
My body, mind and spirit are pure and radiant.
I am strong-willed and determined.
I enjoy eating fruits and vegetables.
I live each moment purposefully.
I embrace my femininity completely.
I deserve permanent and lasting friendships.
I deserve permanent and lasting love & affection.
Intimacy with others is safe and fulfilling.
I deserve to receive more.

I’ve begun to truly realize that affirmations – if said out loud with meaning as often as possible – begin a healing process within. Every time I begin reading the above list, I feel Kundalini healing energy start coursing through me. And already after just a few short days, I’m noticing that I’m happier and that my behavior is reflecting these new positive thoughts.

I have other affirmations I’m saying each day that involve very specific thought patterns I’ve had since childhood that I’m working to transform. You can come up with your own affirmations that pertain to your situation. For instance… think about something you want to change or believe in. Let’s say that you have been lacking willpower for much of your life (like me). Well, in reality, you have only been lacking it because you believe you’ve been lacking it. So, you can fix that situation by changing the belief. Two of the sentences above that would help in this case are “I use willpower and self-discipline effectively” and “I am strong-willed and determined”. If you want others to find you beautiful, for example, you must first believe it yourself. So, say something like, “I am beautiful” or “I am beautiful and lovely inside and out and draw people to me naturally”. (I used to say that latter one).

Come up with your own (pray first if you feel so inclined) or use some of the many examples that could be found on the internet from various sources.

My own personal spiritual journey includes my discovering (through meditation, introspection and concentration exercises) the many thoughts and thought patterns that have kept me ‘in chains’ most of my life. Once discovered, I have learned to first be kind to myself about it rather than beat myself up. Then I work on upgrading and transforming the thinking. It’s not always easy or pleasant and sometimes the healing can cause a mild pain or sickness of some sort while the body sorts itself out. For instance, one day earlier this week, I said the above affirmations 25 times. (Yes, the whole list!) The next morning I woke up with every bone in my body aching! Intuitively I knew I wasn’t coming down with the flu, but that my body was detoxing – releasing old toxic thoughts, which are in fact stored in the body as well in many cases.

Most people start with just one or two affirmations each day. I’ve been doing affirmations for quite some time now and it took a while (many months) to work myself up to something as big as the list above.

It’s simply amazing what positive affirmations could do. I’m living proof of it. I’ll continue to update about my journey with them here!
